Job Description: Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is in search of a committed Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant to join their team at the Potchefstroom store. This role revolves around providing pharmaceutical care by addressing patients’ medicine-related needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification
- Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
- Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Proficiency in Unisolv software
- Computer literacy, especially in MS Office
- Strong numerical aptitude
- Proficiency in English and an additional language
- Willingness and flexibility to work retail hours
Advantages:
- Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations
- Proficiency in a third additional language
- Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
- Familiarity with drug, family planning, and complementary medicine
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the sale, compounding, and manufacturing of medicines
- Aid in the distribution and control of medication stock
- Handle prescription interpretation and dispensing
- Provide accurate medication instructions to patients
- Stay updated on medical aid procedures and dispensing requirements
- Ensure accuracy in medication picking, packing, and labeling
- Assist and advise patients on self-medication and front-shop products
- Process claims and paperwork for medical aid submissions
- Maintain customer profiles and handle stock control
