Faircape Life, a division of the Faircape Group operating across various sectors including Healthcare, Retirement Holdings, and Restaurant and Catering, is in search of a skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at Noordhoek Manor in the Southern Suburbs of Western Cape. Responsibilities:
– Manage and oversee the cooking process from preparation to presentation.
– Produce high-quality meals and baked goods for the onsite Coffee Shop.
– Supervise the daily meal preparation for healthcare residents, including rotating 3-course menus.
– Ensure strict adherence to meal specifications and presentation standards for consistent quality.
– Collaborate with the team to manage stock levels efficiently and minimize discrepancies.
– Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety guidelines.
– Foster a positive work environment among kitchen staff and provide mentoring and training.
– Uphold impeccable standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene.
Qualifications:
– Chef’s diploma/qualification from a registered tertiary education provider.
Requirements and Experience:
– Proven experience in a Senior Chef capacity.
– Knowledge of food quality management and standardization.
– Proficient in various cooking and baking techniques.
– Understanding of health and safety requirements in a kitchen.
Skills and Attributes:
– Strong leadership and management capabilities.
– Adaptability, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
– Effective communication skills.
– Focus on excellence and high-quality standards.
– Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Specific Requirements:
– Clear health, criminal, and credit record.
– Written references required with the application.
Working Hours: 16.25 shifts per month, from 06h30 to 18h30, Monday to Sunday. Flexibility required for standby procedures.
Salary: From R 30,000 Cost to Company per month, dependent on experience, qualifications, skills, and attributes.
Location: Candidates from the Fish Hoek area or Southern Suburbs are preferable.
