BET Software is seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to join their team in Umhlanga. As a guardian of BET Software’s digital fortress, you will play a crucial role in fortifying computer systems and networks against cyber threats. This position involves implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity of operations.

Responsibilities:

– Develop Information Security Plans and Policies to help plan and execute the organization’s information security strategy.
– Create security standards and best practices and recommend enhancements as needed.
– Develop strategies to respond to and recover from security breaches.
– Educate the workforce on information security through training and awareness programs.
– Conduct periodic network scans and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
– Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions.
– Investigate security breaches, lead incident response activities, and conduct forensic investigations.
– Prepare and report findings to management.
– Improve monitoring, alerts, and security configurations.
– Manage container security, patch management, GPO, and Mime Cast administration.
– Utilize Sophos End Point Protection Suite for security monitoring.

Minimum Requirements:

– IT-related Diploma/Degree and a strong technical background.
– Security certifications such as Security+, CEH, or similar.
– Minimum 5 years of experience as a Security Engineer with relevant industry certifications.
– Experience with SIEM, endpoint security solutions, and various security products (firewalls, URL filtering, virus protection).
– Strong understanding of security threats and solutions.
– Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex IT matters to non-technical stakeholders.
– Information security designations like CEH, CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security+ are advantageous.
